This piece of work includes different types of scripts, storyboards as well as storylines and page mock-ups.
Our groups storyboards
Storyboards are used to show the order of how something will be shown such as films and story's. During pre-production in professional film's , the script gets broken down into different scenes which are then put on to a storyboard. These usually include the details of the locations, props, cast members, costumes, special effects and visual effects.
In our class we each got put into smaller groups where we got given specific scenes each to write a script for and then storyboard them. Me and Liberty were together and got given scene 9 and my storyboard is the photo. We then had to write each scene we had written a script for in order on plotbot.
Professional Storyboards
Professional film company's use storyboards to show the order of the scenes in time sequence. They are also used to show how scenes will be set by showing angles, locations, facial expressions, positions, characters and more to get the best final product.
This video is of a storyboard tutorial which includes how to draw different angles and techniques.

An example of a professional storyboard is from Dreamworks TV Animation 'Father of the Pride' . This picture is of one part of the storyboard for an episode of the TV show, it shows the location, facial expressions, actions, angles, characters and speech. This storyboard is used to show the animators how the scene will be set so they can get every aspect correct to make it the best version. They will use the storyboards to create the whole show and then it will eventually end with the final production.
This photo is from the TV programme 'Father of the Pride'. This picture shows how the final production looks from the help of a storyboard, the storyboard would have shown how this scene would have been set out with the angles of the characters, facial expressions, actions and backgrounds. When comparing the previous picture of the storyboard for this TV show, you can see and compare the differences and see how they have developed from the original storyboard to make the final product.
Big named production company's such as Disney use storyboards to plan their animated films such as Aladdin, which is the photo on the left. They have used storyboards to show the angles, facial expressions and body gestures of the characters so the animators know how to specifically draw them for the final production. This will make sure the scenes are drawn perfectly so the scenes fit together so they make sense to the audience during the final production.
Professional film company's also use storyboards for non-animated films again to know the angles, shot directions, locations and characters in the scenes to film them correctly. Using storyboards help to make the final production the best it can be. An example of a non-animated production who used storyboards to plan is Jurassic Park.
