Potential Film Locations
To be able to film my opening title sequence I need locations to shoot my scenes. I have found some places which could be potential locations in and around our school. I have taken some photos of these possible locations around school to film my scenes for my opening title sequence. These locations included outside and inside places such as:
- Canteen
- Corridors
- School gate/front of school
- Behind school in green area
- Netball court
- Playgroud
- Flat/Green room
- Hall
For my opening title sequence I need a dark, basement/celler type enclosed room. I have found another potential location which is located in school, Aladdins Cave. It is dark, damp and enclosed with a creepy cob-web covered window which would be great for single shots. Some pictures of this is shown below.
Locations We Will Use
I will be using under the school stage for my main scenes in my opening title sequence. This is because it is a dark, small, cob-webbed brick room which is perfect for the atmosphere and setting I want.
Location Inspiration From Other Horror Films
I like the idea of a corridor scene due to the corridor scene from the horror film 'Whispering Corridors'. I like the idea of a corridor because it makes the scene more tense due to giving the victims not a lot of places to go or hide. Also because of the narrowness which gives more focus on the killer or victim (who ever is in the shot) and also more emphasis on what is happening in the scene whether its someone getting murdered or chased.
I like this room for the film 'Saw'. It is a creepy, dirty, cold room which is perfect for scaring and torturing people. I like that it is bare and dull because it makes people uncomfortable and maybe ask lots of questions. This is the type of room i want for the beginning of my opening title sequence. Its especially good as the people in the room are trapped until they find a way out so it will make them feel scared and nervous about what will happen to them which again creates mystery and tension for the audience.
